Understand the dairy breeds and the importance of comparing and selecting different dairy herds.

Understand the composition of milk and the importance of the factors affecting the composition of
milk.
SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3
Identify the importance of the lactation cycle as well as the importance of feeding balanced rations
to the dairy animals.

Understand and be able to implement the different management, growth and feeding factors
affecting the dairy heifer and the dairy cow.

The learner will be able to manage a farm milk dairy from milking the cows to the cooling of milk.
