Too cold

It is vital that chicks do not get cold as they will start huddling and mortalities will occur.

A chick’s body temperature is much higher than a persons and it is essential that they are in a warm environment until they are big enough to survive.

When chickens get older the processes in their bodies (Respiration) give off lots of heat and water vapour making their environment more humid, then you will have to look at cooling them down again.
